2017년 8월 16일, 미국 소비자제품안전위원회(CPSC: Consumer Product Safety Commission)는 아동용품 내

프탈레이트(phthalate) 검출 유무 검증 시험 대상에서 7종의 플라스틱을 제외하는 규칙*을 만장일치로 승인하였음

미국 소비자제품안전개선법(CPSIA*) 108장에 따라 0.1% 이상의 DEHP(di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate), DBP(dibutyl phthalate), BBP(butyl benzyl phthalate), DINP(diisononyl phthalate), DIDP(diisodecyl phthalate), DNOP(di-n-octyl phthalate)가 함유된 아동용 완구 및 케어 제품의 제조, 판촉, 유통 및 수입이 금지되며 아동용품 제조자는 제3자가

실시하는 프탈레이트 검출 유/무 검증 시험을 거쳐야 아동용품 인증서(CPC**)를 발급하여 판매를 개시할 수 있음

동 규칙에 따른 제3자 시험 제외 대상 플라스틱은 다음과 같음

∙ PP(polypropylene)

∙ PE(polyethylene)

∙ HIPS(high-impact polystyrene)

∙ ABS(acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)

않는 것으로 연구결과 판명되어 검출 유/무 검증 시험 대상에서 제외되었습니다.
