2017년 9월 6일, EU는 완구 재료 용출 시험 시 검출되는 6가 크롬 기준치를 개정하는 내용의 완구안전지침 개정안*을 세계무역기구 WTO에 통보했음

2015년 1월 환경보건위험 과학위원회(the Scientific Committee on Health and Environmental Risks)는 아동들이

장난감 이외에도 다른 경로로도 6가크롬을 흡수할 가능성이 있는 만큼 일일 허용량은 몸무게 기준 0.0002 ug/kg

으로 유지해야 한다는 의견을 발표하였음
